For over then 25 years 3D Informatica is offering to national leaders in the field of publishing their solutions Documentary and Information Filtering. The know-how acquired in this area makes it a benchmark for companies that need to produce content for the web and for printed paper.

Below we cite some complex projects born with years of analysis and developments in synergy with customer experiences.


The main feature of this project is to be RTF-Centrico. The RTF is cornerstone, as it is on it that is based around the paper production process and, with time, also the digital. Since the '90s have been made detailed interpretations of the RTF and relative to HTML conversion with a realistic rendering in video. This allows the publisher to use a single tool to preserve RTF, supply with a series of metadata and use them for the most editorial purposes, from paper to digital. Hidden among the folds dell'RTF are also a multitude of hypertext links designed to guide the user in singles cognitive experience: from normative reference that allows you to make targeted insights, to expertise that has characterized the publisher and its authors for a thirty years.

It was also designed and produced a complex and authorization system that allows users to access to the parts of the Database of their competence in extremely widespread manner and creating the opportunity for a centralized authentication system tightly integrated with management systems. In this way, the user who purchases or renews his contract has immediate access to the content available to him, as well as all access is inhibited instantaneously when changing contract terms.

This software solution takes full advantage of the features of Information Retrieval of Extraway with extensive use of text searches with and without Ranking.

The future roadmap of the solution involves the development of a Web form for consultation by users of the base records.


This editorial project provides an entirely different approach. This, too, based on the experiences of a modern publishing company and growing that needed to pursue the opening to the digital world.

3D Informatica has studietd an XML format that was suited to their editorial requirements and developed customizations to an XML editor to guide operators in the publisher editorial task. The format as well studied fulfills a dual need: contains information of visual nature that they are appropriately translated depending on the editorial result that if is intended (from paper, to eBook, to the searchable database on the Web) preserving absolutely faithfully even the original structure, in particular of regulatory measures. The adoption of a similar format has also allowed in time to acquire and export the content of the data base to and from third companies with a flexibility of closely linked to the adoption of the XML Conversion.

The solution consists of several modules, some specifically designed for the print copy, others for editorial aspects and others for the Web solutions. Partiular attension, which it has been a long and complex work, was given to the realization of formats that would allow a close interface with pre-press tools such as Adobe Indesign, leader in the market, to produce a printable text directly from the export of a "Menabç" from the Database.


This project focuses in a single Database metadata inherent national, comunity and international trademarks and patents, each of them was designed according to their own standards. The completed study has allowed to identify ways of normalization that, in fact, no impact on the data itself, which therefore maintain its format. For the acquisition of trademarks has been made the fully automatic DB population processes that draw on public sources or private sources of sector operators and they are merging all the material collected and processed in the general database. All records have a different format but feed vocabolaries in common and they are presented homogeneously. In this way the management of the trademarks (surveillance in view of the risk of uniqueness violation locally and outside national borders) becomes particularly easy.

To increase these possibilities, in addition to making wide use of the capacities of Information Retrieval of Extraway, project uses some particular search modes and less known: search for similarity of terms that detects a match when they differ to a certain "percentage" of the caratcters that compose them and above all a phonetic search, which recognizes two terms as related or near when their pronunciation is similar on the basis of configurable rules (consider, for example the term "foto" and term "photo" which it is just one of the most basic cases).
